Doha College Model United Nations (DCMUN)

 

Model United Nations is a dynamic simulation of the UN that helps our pupils develop leadership, communication and negotiation skills, alongside a strong grasp of current affairs. As UN delegates, pupils research global issues, draft resolutions, speak publicly to defend their country’s position and build consensus.

DCMUN is pupil-led: members run the club, organise conferences attended by schools in Qatar and beyond, and take leading roles at THIMUN Qatar, as well as initiatives linked to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Meet the Team – The Big 7

At the heart of Doha College Model United Nations (DCMUN) is The Big 7 — a dedicated group of pupil leaders who ensure that every aspect of the conference runs seamlessly. Their passion, professionalism, and teamwork embody the spirit of diplomacy and leadership that defines DCMUN.
 

Administration
The administrative team forms the backbone of every event, managing essential logistics that allow delegates to focus on debate and diplomacy. 

Their behind-the-scenes work ensures that each conference runs smoothly, creating a professional and organised experience for all participants.
Press
The press team captures the energy and essence of DCMUN through creative storytelling, insightful reporting, and multimedia coverage. 

By documenting discussions and sharing interviews, they enhance transparency and showcase the educational value of MUN to a wider audience.
International Court of Justice (ICJ)
The ICJ team offers participants a realistic insight into international law through simulations of global legal proceedings.

This unique experience deepens pupils’ understanding of justice, diplomacy, and the complexities of international relations.
Training
The training team plays a pivotal role in preparing the next generation of global leaders. 

Through weekly sessions, they develop pupils’ confidence, diplomatic understanding, and communication skills — all essential for success at conferences and beyond.
Communications
The communications team connects every element of DCMUN. 

By managing internal updates and overseeing press relations, they foster engagement, promote the values of diplomacy, and ensure that every delegate feels informed, empowered, and part of a global dialogue.
