Starting at Doha College is an exciting new chapter for both pupils and families, and we are here to make that journey as smooth, positive, and welcoming as possible.
We have carefully designed transition programmes in place to ensure every new pupil feels supported and confident from the very beginning. In EYFS, our September starters benefit from our unique 4-week Flying Start Programme, while in-year admissions follow a phased start approach to gently ease children into their new environment.
For our Secondary families, we offer a series of thoughtfully planned transition workshops that support the transition from Primary to Secondary and key steps along the Secondary school journey. These are complemented by welcome presentations, a comprehensive parent handbook, IT induction sessions, and structured settling-in reports and processes.
From the very first step, our aim is to ensure every family feels informed, reassured, and warmly welcomed into life at DC.
Flying Start Programme Overview
Documents and Attestations
To finalise your child’s enrolment, we kindly ask that the following documents are shared with the Admissions Office in electronic format before their first day at school:
Qatar Residence Permits for both the pupil and their sponsor
Transfer / Clearance Certificate: If a place is offered, we will need a Transfer (Leaver’s) Certificate from your child’s current school confirming their last completed year group and relevant academic details
For overseas applicants (Year 2 and above): An attested copy of the most recent school report. Our Admissions Team will be very happy to guide you through the attestation process step by step
For transfers within Qatar: Please share our official offer letter with your child’s current school, along with our school code 31037, so they can begin the transfer process via the Ministry of Education

Transition
Starting a new school is a significant step, and at Doha College, we are committed to making the process as smooth and welcoming as possible.
Once the registration and seat booking fees have been received, families will be sent a comprehensive Welcome Pack, containing everything needed to prepare for the term ahead — including details about the school uniform, term dates, and essential school policies.
You’ll also receive confirmation of your child’s class placement and teacher, along with an invitation to attend a transition meeting with the relevant Head of Year.
This personalised approach ensures that both pupils and parents feel informed, supported, and excited about the journey ahead.
