Digital Learning - Doha College

Digital Learning at Doha College

Technology is an important part of modern life and learning. At Doha College, we use it purposefully — helping pupils become confident, curious, creative and responsible users of technology while ensuring that learning always comes first.

As a 1:1 iPad school from Year 3 to Year 13, pupils have access to digital tools throughout their learning. Used alongside high-quality teaching and more traditional approaches, technology can deepen understanding, encourage creativity, support collaboration and give pupils new ways to explore, question and communicate their ideas.

From researching and evaluating information to creating, presenting and solving problems, pupils develop their digital skills progressively throughout their time at Doha College. They learn not simply how to use technology, but when to use it, why it can be valuable and when another approach may be more appropriate.

Digital learning at Doha College supports:

  • Think critically, ask questions and carry out independent research

  • Create, communicate and collaborate across the curriculum

  • Approach new technologies with confidence and curiosity

  • Use technology safely, responsibly and ethically

  • Respond to feedback and take greater ownership of their learning

  • Develop the judgement needed to navigate an increasingly digital world

Our aim is not to replace established approaches to teaching and learning, but to enhance them. By combining strong academic foundations with thoughtful use of technology, we create learning experiences that encourage pupils to explore new possibilities, embrace challenge and make considered choices.

Responsible Innovation

Technology should serve learning, not replace it; this principle sits at the heart of our approach to digital learning.

As technology continues to evolve, including the rapid development of artificial intelligence, we help pupils understand both its possibilities and the responsibilities that come with using it. Through age-appropriate guidance, digital induction and ongoing learning, pupils develop the confidence and judgement to make informed choices.

They are encouraged to question what they see online, consider the reliability and origins of information, protect their privacy and understand the impact their digital choices can have on themselves and others. In doing so, pupils develop not only digital capability, but the curiosity, courage and consideration for others that help them navigate the world responsibly.

Clear expectations are supported by ongoing education for pupils, staff and families, helping our whole school community respond thoughtfully and confidently as technology changes.

Working Together

Digital learning works best when school and home work together.

Alongside supporting pupils in school, we provide families with practical guidance and resources to help navigate areas including online safety, screen use, artificial intelligence and responsible digital behaviour.

Our ambition is for every pupil to leave Doha College as a confident, capable and responsible digital citizen — someone who can question thoughtfully, explore new possibilities and use technology to learn, create, communicate and contribute.
