A Bespoke, Purpose-driven 6th Form Experience 

No two pupils have the same ambitions, which is why flexibility is one of the defining strengths of 6th Form at Doha College.  Rather than being restricted by traditional subject blocks, pupils have the freedom to create an academic programme shaped around their interests, strengths and future aspirations. That could mean combining sciences with humanities, bringing creative and analytical subjects together, or extending an area of particular interest through the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Small class sizes and access to a large faculty of expert teachers create an environment where pupils are known, challenged and supported. They are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas beyond the curriculum and develop the independence expected at university and beyond.  Additional opportunities, including LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) qualifications, allow pupils to pursue their interests further while developing skills and experiences that complement their academic studies.

Leadership With Purpose 

6th Form is about more than preparing for examinations. It is an opportunity to discover the kind of person and leader you want to become.  

From Head Boy and Head Girl to senior prefect responsibilities, pupil-led committees, mentoring and community initiatives, 6th Formers have meaningful opportunities to shape school life.  They organise events, champion wellbeing, support charitable causes, mentor younger pupils, and represent their peers' voices.  These experiences require pupils to step forward, take responsibility and sometimes move beyond what feels familiar. In doing so, they develop confidence, resilience, empathy, and an understanding that leadership is not simply about having a title but about the positive difference they make to those around them.

From Doha College to the World 

Choosing what comes after 6th Form is one of the most significant decisions a young person makes. At Doha College, pupils do not navigate it alone.

University and careers preparation is structured, highly personalised and begins well before applications are submitted.  As a registered UCAS centre, our experienced 6th Form and Careers teams guide pupils throughout the process, from exploring courses, universities and possible career pathways to preparing applications and making informed final choices.

Our pupils aspire high.  Recent cohorts have secured offers from some of the world's leading universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Cambridge and University of Oxford, alongside multiple offers from Imperial College London and University College London (UCL).

With 95% of pupils progressing to higher education, and a significant proportion joining Russell Group universities, our focus goes beyond securing an offer. We want every pupil to leave Doha College understanding their options and having the confidence to take their next step with purpose.

6th Form brings greater independence, but pupils remain part of a community that knows and supports them.

Dedicated 6th Form spaces provide places to study independently, collaborate with friends, connect with others or simply recharge during the school day. Enhanced common rooms and welcoming social spaces, including our community café, help create a distinctive 6th Form environment within the wider school.

Wellbeing and pastoral care are embedded in everyday 6th Form life, with personalised support available as pupils navigate the academic and personal demands of these important two years.  And life at Doha College extends far beyond lessons.  Whether through sport, music, Model United Nations, creative societies, leadership, service or the many other opportunities available across the school, pupils are encouraged to continue discovering their interests and trying something new.
