Doha College Celebrates Sporting Excellence at the Annual Sports Presentation Evening
The annual Sports Presentation Evening was a fitting celebration of another exceptional year of sport across the College, recognising the achievements, commitment and character of pupils from Years 3 to 13. Bringing together pupils, families, coaches and staff, the evening celebrated not only sporting success, but the values and experiences that define sport at Doha College.

Sport at Doha College is about far more than competition. It is about developing confident, resilient young people who embrace challenge, work collaboratively and strive to achieve their personal best both on and off the field.
With opportunities spanning Primary and Secondary School across football, basketball, netball, swimming, cricket, and volleyball, alongside athletics, cross-country, and a growing calendar of sporting events, pupils are encouraged to discover their strengths, develop new skills, and experience the many benefits of representing their school.
These opportunities form an important part of the Doha College experience, where learning extends well beyond the classroom. Through sport, pupils build resilience, leadership, teamwork and confidence, qualities that reflect the Doha College Learner Profile and prepare them to thrive in every aspect of life.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing from special guests Philippe Senderos (Former Switzerland International and Arsenal football professional) and Nada Arkaji (Doha College alumna and the first woman to represent Qatar at the Olympics), whose inspiring stories of perseverance, resilience and overcoming setbacks reinforced the powerful life lessons that sport can teach. Their experiences encouraged pupils to continue pursuing excellence, embracing challenges and learning from every opportunity.

Hundreds of pupils proudly represented Doha College in national and international sporting events this year, alongside a wide range of competitions and activities within the College. Across every fixture, festival and event, pupils consistently demonstrated determination, integrity and outstanding sportsmanship. Whether competing for medals, achieving personal bests or representing the College for the very first time, every pupil contributed to another memorable year for Doha College sport.
In Primary, pupils enjoyed an action-packed sporting calendar that included Sports Week, football festivals, QPPSSA competitions and the College’s inaugural Aquathlon, which welcomed more than 400 participants. These experiences encouraged pupils to challenge themselves, support one another and develop a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity within an inclusive and supportive environment.
Secondary pupils continued to build on these foundations, embracing opportunities to compete across a wide range of sports while demonstrating the commitment, discipline and leadership that sit at the heart of the College’s sporting culture.
Together, these experiences reflect the strength of Doha College’s sporting pathway, providing pupils with meaningful opportunities to participate, progress and excel throughout their educational journey.

A standout achievement during the year came at the World School Games 2026, where Doha College pupils showcased their talent on the international stage.
Competing against leading schools from around the world across football, athletics and swimming at the Aspire Dome, our athletes delivered exceptional performances, with the U15 team crowned overall champions, the U11 team securing an impressive second-place finish and the U13 team placing third overall. These outstanding results are a reflection of the strength of Doha College's sporting programme, the commitment shown by our pupils through PE lessons and co-curricular activities, and the dedication of the coaches and staff who support them every step of the way. More importantly, they exemplify the resilience, teamwork and ambition that define the DC Difference.

A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Sportsman of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year awards, recognising two pupils who have consistently demonstrated exceptional sporting achievement, leadership and commitment throughout their time at Doha College.
Congratulations to Aodhan B, who was named Sportsman of the Year, and Evie A, who received the Sportswoman of the Year award. Their dedication, perseverance and passion for sport have made them outstanding ambassadors for the College, embodying the values, character and sporting excellence that define the Doha College community.

The Sports Presentation Evening was a celebration of every pupil who embraced the opportunities that sport provides, whether by representing the College, supporting teammates or stepping outside their comfort zone to try something new.
Congratulations to all of this year's award winners and to every pupil who contributed to another outstanding year of sport at Doha College. Your achievements continue to demonstrate the strength of the College's sporting culture and the many ways pupils grow through experiences beyond the classroom.
