Doha College hosts some of the major events in Qatar, which have become key milestones in the country's academic, arts and sporting calendar.

Qatar School Choir of the Year - Uniting Children Through Singing

Since its inception in 2017, the Qatar School Choir of the Year - QSCoY, has become a cherished event in the nation's music calendar, originally known as the "Qatar Primary School Choir of the Year." This annual competition, proudly organised by Doha College, was established by a dedicated team of music teachers, parent volunteers, and choir enthusiasts to enrich music education in Qatar.

With its motto, "Uniting Children Through Singing," QSCoY has experienced remarkable growth, attracting increasing numbers of participants each year. The event is a celebration of the power of music and collaboration, providing young singers with an opportunity to hone their vocal skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of choral singing. Now in its sixth edition, QSCoY continues to showcase the exceptional talent of young choirs across the country, remaining true to its founding principles.

Doha College Medical Conference - Inspiring Medical Students

Launched in 2014 as the pioneering event of its kind in the state of Qatar, Doha College’s Medical Conference brings together secondary school students who share a passion for medicine. The conference is solely dedicated to offering a distinctive platform for aspiring young medics taking their initial strides toward a medical career. This event provides an opportunity for budding medical students to demonstrate their knowledge and in-depth research capabilities by presenting on the latest groundbreaking developments.

Keeping with Qatar’s 2030 National Vision, which clearly affirms a commitment to healthcare, Doha College is proud to be at the forefront of supporting students in Qatar with a similar vision. Together with COBIS – Council of British International Schools; and local partners Hamad Medical Corporation and Elite Medical Center, we support the National Vision by inspiring and equipping students, enhancing their skills and aiding them in the university application process for a career in the medical field.

Interested schools put forward teams from years 11, 12 and 13 to research recent developments in medicine and deliver a short presentation. Teachers from participating schools stand as judges for the morning session presentations, and the final judging panel will comprise doctors and medical experts who then assess and challenge the finalists in the afternoon session.

Doha College Race

The Doha College race has been in operation since 2011, with the first edition held at The Pearl, when 300 participants crossed the start line in a 10km competition. The race has grown significantly and took place for a few years in the Aspire Zone, home of the iconic Torch Hotel, Aspire Park, and other world-class sporting facilities. The anticipated yearly event offers both a 5km and 10km race, plus a children's 1km race, and attracts over 1,000 runners from the Qatar community and beyond.

The last race, the ninth edition, took place at night, at the spectacular Lusail International Circuit venue. The race was the fastest in its history, with both events for males clocking new race records. In an event full of firsts, the race introduced a children’s race over 1 km, in which nearly 150 children aged 6 to 11 competed for the trophy.
