Our mission includes developing culturally responsive teaching strategies that ensure all voices are heard and respected. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and victimization, actively promoting respect and fairness for all.

By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, we strive to create a place where everyone can thrive and feel genuinely valued, building a welcoming community together.

Doha College sees DEI as essential, aiming to integrate these values across all aspects of college life. Through a collaborative, whole-school approach, and in partnership with the Sustainability Lead, we strive to foster culturally and environmentally responsive teaching. We prioritise a safe, supportive environment where everyone is valued, while respecting our Qatari context and promoting inclusion, respect, and kindness.

Upcoming DEI events at Doha College

Black History Month

Black History Month at Doha College is a significant celebration that underscores the school's dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Throughout October, the school community unites to recognise and explore the rich history, contributions, and cultural importance of Black heritage.

Notable past events have included Afro Celebration Day and a South African Gumboot dance workshop—a historically meaningful form of communication once used by miners. These activities encourage appreciation for Black history and strengthen the school's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Through Black History Month, Doha College cultivates a deeper understanding of Black culture and reaffirms its values of inclusivity, equality, and unity. This annual observance provides students with opportunities to reflect on their own experiences, promoting a sense of belonging and respect within the school’s diverse community.

International DaY

At Doha College, the World Day for Cultural Diversity—fondly known as Diversity Day or Culture Day—is a cherished annual tradition that celebrates the incredible mosaic of cultures within the school community. This offers students, staff, and parents an opportunity to embrace and explore the rich variety of global traditions, languages, and customs represented at Doha College.

It is a day when students and staff proudly display their cultural attire, national colors, and symbols of heritage, celebrating both individual uniqueness and collective unity. This enriching experience underscores the school’s dedication to nurturing an environment where everyone feels valued and included, regardless of background.

Culture Day at Doha College is not just a celebration; it is a powerful expression of the school's values, promoting understanding, respect, and a shared sense of belonging among all members of the school community.

International Week for Persons with Disability and Neuro-Diversity

International Week for Persons with Disability and Neuro-Diversity at Doha College is a dedicated week aimed at fostering inclusivity, understanding, and awareness within the school community. During this week, students across the school participate in a variety of activities designed to promote empathy and respect for individuals with disabilities and neuro-diverse conditions.

Key events include sessions on British Sign Language, where students have the opportunity to learn basic signs and explore the importance of communication access. Inspired by the Paralympics, the PE department also organises taster lessons in inclusive sports. Students engage in sports such as Goalball, Polybat, sitting volleyball, para-archery, boccia, and para-golf, experiencing firsthand the adaptations made for athletes with disabilities.

This week plays a crucial role in reinforcing Doha College's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by encouraging students to embrace and celebrate differences, thus contributing to a supportive and inclusive school environment for all.

Women's Day

International Women’s Day at Doha College is a powerful celebration that underscores the school’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This event, and the surrounding week-long activities, highlight the significant contributions of women within the school community and beyond, fostering a culture of respect, empowerment, and solidarity.

During International Women’s Week, the college engages in various activities that reflect its dedication to gender equality. These include charity bake sales to support causes like "Education Above All," as well as personal initiatives where students and staff send cards to honour influential women in their lives. Younger students participate by creating purple handprints, symbolising unity and inclusion from the earliest years of education. The empowHer club, a student-led initiative, organises assemblies that offer peer perspectives on gender equality, emphasising the importance of advocacy and active participation in social issues.

The week also features inspiring assemblies with external speakers and staff members sharing their stories, which provide students with diverse perspectives on success and resilience. Through these events, Doha College creates a platform for reflection, celebration, and meaningful conversations that reinforce its commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all.
