Entry Requirements

Doha College is a selective entry school with a focus on academic excellence. Admission is subject to criteria which vary according to the applicant’s age-group and to places being available.

Open places are not handed out on a ‘first come, first served basis’. All applicants will be expected to sit an entrance assessment and only applicants successful at the assessment will be eligible to take up open places or be added to the waiting list.

Waiting lists for all year groups are rank ordered based on academic ability as determined by the entrance assessment, examination results, previous school reports and an academic and character reference.

Admission to Years 12 and 13 is subject to meeting our minimum entry requirements at GCSE and/or A-Level (five grade C’s/5 and above with B’s/6 in the subject options selected), availability of places and a satisfactory interview as well as, academic and behaviour reference.

Entry requirements for the full BTEC Sports Diploma course may vary.

In some circumstances, students with learning support requirements will be accepted. If extensive learning support is required, then this will be discussed with the school prior to confirmation of a place.

Entrance Assessments

The assessment tests are designed primarily to ensure that the student meets the entry requirements and that the teaching and curriculum offered at Doha College match the pupil’s needs.
