Why Doha College Stands Out: A Message from Our Principal

Doha College is a British International School, founded by the British Embassy to provide an outstanding British education to the expatriate community in Doha. It has grown into an internationally recognised institution with students from nearly 90 nationalities.

While British nationals make up around 60% of our student body, our strong British identity and core values remain central to everything we do. The remaining 40% of our pupils come from every corner of the globe, including residents from Qatar, creating a diverse community enriched by a blend of cultural perspectives and shared values.

Our commitment to creating outstanding futures is reflected in the accolades we’ve achieved. Doha College has been recognised as one of the leading British international schools, with placements on both the Spears’ School Index, ranking the top 100 private schools globally, and the Carfax Index, listing the top 150 private schools worldwide. In our recent British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection, Doha College was rated outstanding in all categories and described as a centre of excellence in the region.

Consistently delivering the highest examination results at both GCSE and A-Level among 3-18 schools in the Middle East, we equip our students with the skills and knowledge to achieve success at the world’s most prestigious universities.

Doha College’s not-for-profit status is a defining feature and one of the most common reasons prospective parents choose our school. All fees are reinvested directly into the school, supporting our commitment to recruiting and retaining the best teachers and support staff, enhancing classroom resources, and expanding learning opportunities. Unlike for-profit institutions, our focus is purely on education for a better world, ensuring resources are directed back to benefit our students, supporting academic excellence, and fostering an environment that prioritises student development.

A Doha College education is not solely about academic achievement—it encompasses a holistic approach, supporting students in every area of their development. Our size, history, and unmatched facilities within Doha allow us to offer an extensive range of co-curricular activities. From sports to the performing arts, we empower each student to pursue their passions, develop their talents, and become the very best version of themselves.

In line with our culture of kindness, we provide a nurturing environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued through our pastoral care. Our warm, inclusive community welcomes new families and fosters engagement and support, making it an ideal setting for students and parents alike.

Due to the growing demand from both international families moving to Doha and local families looking to join Doha College, we are opening our admissions window earlier this academic year. We recommend applying early to secure a place and avoid the waiting lists that inevitably build as the year progresses.
