Their presence added further prestige to an already world-class event, offering valuable professional insight and reinforcing QSCoY’s commitment to musical excellence.
Eight Years of QSCoY: Building a Choral Legacy
Since its inception in 2017, QSCoY has grown year on year, both in scale and reputation. What began as a bold vision has evolved into a nationally recognised celebration of school music.
QSCoY History at a Glance:
- 8 consecutive years of hosting at Doha College
- 100+ schools participated since 2017
- 140 choirs performed
- 1,500+ minutes of choral music delivered
These milestones reflect not only the popularity of the competition but also Doha College’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the arts and providing platforms for young performers to shine.

From Vision to Institution
Originally launched as the Qatar Primary School Choir of the Year, the competition was brought to life by a dedicated team of Doha College music teachers, parent volunteers and choir enthusiasts. Their aim was simple yet ambitious: to expand opportunities for choral music in Qatar and inspire a new generation of singers.
Over time, QSCoY has grown to include a wider age range, a larger number of schools, and increasingly high singing standards. Today, it stands as a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration, creativity and a shared belief in the transformative power of music.
Hosting QSCoY for eight consecutive years is a source of immense pride for Doha College. Organising an event of this magnitude—bringing together hundreds of students, teachers and supporters—reflects the school’s leadership in arts education and its role in shaping Qatar’s cultural landscape.
From performance spaces to logistics and pastoral care, the event exemplified Doha College’s ability to deliver a seamless, professional and welcoming experience for all involved.
