Doha College 2024 Graduates: A Celebration
As the academic year comes to a close, Doha College celebrated the remarkable journey of its graduating class of 2024. These students have not only excelled academically but have also demonstrated resilience, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact on their community.
Charged with a mixture of anticipation and nostalgia, the event brought together all those whose years of dedication made today’s graduates who they are: parents, teachers, siblings, and many others from the Doha College community. Throughout the years, the class of 2024 has embraced everything from science fairs to sports tournaments, from Model United Nations conferences to artistic performances, from remote learning to International Awards residentials, all the while growing into near-adults and making forever friends.
Doha College is blessed with the talents of many young artists. The audience of this year’s ceremony was treated to a musical interlude from Chaoyi Sha and Nicole Ong (pictured above), on piano and violin respectively, and to a mesmerising monologue from “Dead Poets Society,” performed by Joseph Tomasicchio.
Another highlight of the event was the very popular band Experimental BBQ, who played “Wonderwall” with such virtuosity that if you closed your eyes, you would have thought you were at a rock concert! We say goodbye to drummer Hamza, but hope that Arthur, Pearl, and Rohan keep on experimenting!
One by one, the graduates marched on the stage to the solemn sound of Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance,” and were handed their scrolls. Pictured above is one of the Banks twins (we challenge you to guess which), both of whom made huge contributions to Doha College in terms of academics, sports, leadership, and more.
As we bid farewell to the class of 2024, we do so with immense pride and optimism. These graduates are well-prepared to take on the future, armed with knowledge, skills, and solid values. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to hearing about their continued successes.
To our stellar graduating class of 2024; we thank you for being excellent role models for our younger students. Our school community will sorely miss the electricity you bring to the campus. Thank you for your indelible contributions to DC. This will always be your “home away from home”.
Jerome Scafe, Head of Secondary
It was such a pleasure to be able to say a fond farewell to our departing Year 13 students. They have been such a wonderful group of individuals and those members of the year group who spoke or performed at the ceremony were so impressive. They have very bright futures ahead of them.
