Doha College Pupils Excel in the British Biology Olympiad
Doha College is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in this year’s British Biology Olympiad (BBO). Competing against 18,533 students from 1,053 schools, our pupils demonstrated exceptional problem-solving abilities, resilience, and a deep understanding of biological principles.
This competition is known for its rigorous and thought-provoking questions, requiring students to engage with topics beyond their curriculum. It not only rewards knowledge but also the ability to think analytically and apply concepts in unfamiliar contexts. These are skills that Doha College nurtures in its students, ensuring they are prepared for the complexities of higher education and beyond.
A special congratulations to Ethan I, Salma E, and Aodhan B, who were awarded the prestigious Silver Award, placing them in the top 10% of all participants. Their success is a testament to their dedication, curiosity, and critical thinking skills. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Abeeha R, who achieved a Bronze Award, as well as to our Commended and Participation Award recipients who took on the challenge with enthusiasm and determination.
I am delighted that so many biology students took part in the British Biology Olympiad this year. It is a prestigious and highly competitive event quizzing students on biology outside the normal curriculum bounds. The students have represented themselves and Doha College admirably,
Rachel Hart, Head of Biology at Doha College
