DC teacher Martin Harvey wins CBQ Masters ProAm 2021 with his team
Cristina Ionascu

Our primary PE teacher Martin Harvey competed in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters ProAm 2021, in the stellar company of Oliver Fisher. Martin is passionately dedicated to sports education and is a versatile sportsman. He is an encyclopedia of sporting knowledge and a burst of enthusiasm, both of which he shares happily with all around him.

He played the ProAm 2021 alongside legendary Oliver Fisher, professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Oliver Wrote his name into golfing history when he became the first player on the European Tour to shoot a round of 59 at the 2018 Portugal Masters. He claims many other achievements, including being the youngest golfer to have notched 400 events at just 32 years of age.

Martin proved to be a very worthy teammate to Oliver, hitting four birdies (gross) and helping to win the team event, which took the trophy with a score of 34 (with handicap) over 18 holes.

Martin’s success will inspire many Doha College students, who are quite familiar with the game and produced many outstanding players, most recently Mikkel Mathiesen, Jakub Hrinda and Laila Hrindova.
