Cambridge and Oxford Summer School Essay Competition rewards three Doha College students
Cristina Ionascu

“Immerse Education” runs academic enrichment programmes in the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge University. Doha College students entered their essay competition that offered the opportunity to win scholarships to participate on a summer programme.

The essays submitted by Arwa Elrayess, Shriya Mishra (both in Year 10), and Rebecca Anand (Year 9) were recognised as some of the highest calibre of entries this year.

The summer programme includes accommodation in a college of the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford, 40 hours of academic sessions from Oxford University and Cambridge University tutors, study and lecture materials, mentor programme and access to support material, formal dinner at Cambridge colleges, punting, croquet, coach excursions, graduation ceremony and certificates, as well as a tutor written assessment. The prize however can be used towards other online courses that run throughout the year, so the girls are still pondering on the best use of their winnings.

Arwa

Arwa attributed her success to her Doha College teachers’ mentoring, saying:

I am so thankful for all of your help, support and motivation throughout this experience. I would never have achieved this without your continuous encouragement!

You can read Arwa’s, Rebecca's and Shriya’s essays by tapping on their name.

Congratulations, girls!
