A Celebration of Community, Creativity and Colour: Doha College Spring Festival 2026

The Doha College campus came alive once again as families, pupils and members of the wider community gathered for the much-anticipated Spring Festival 2026. Building on the success of previous years, the event was a joyful celebration of community spirit, creativity and entrepreneurial ambition, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

With more than 2,200 visitors and over 70 vendors filling the campus with colour, music and energy, the festival atmosphere was vibrant from start to finish. From the buzz of conversation around the stalls to the laughter echoing from activity zones, the day perfectly captured the inclusive and dynamic spirit of Doha College.

A Day of Fun, Energy and Entertainment

The Spring Festival offered a wide range of activities designed to delight guests of all ages. Children enjoyed classic favourites such as bouncy castles, face painting and traditional games, while the surprise flash mob added an extra moment of excitement and celebration.

Entertainment played a central role throughout the day, with fantastic performances from Mockingbird Performing Arts and Evo Sports Qatar, whose energy and enthusiasm captivated the crowd. Guests were also invited to take part in a lively Zumba class, transforming the festival into a truly interactive experience and encouraging everyone to get involved, move and have fun together.

Pitch, Profit, Learn: Pupil Entrepreneurship in Action

A standout feature of the Spring Festival was the Student Enterprise Area, showcasing the impressive outcomes of the Pitch, Profit, Learn initiative. This programme provides pupils with real-world experience in entrepreneurship, from ideation and market research to pitching, budgeting and profit generation.

This year, 37 pupil-led businesses pitched their ideas to Mr Crothers and Mrs Arora, making the selection of just 10 stalls an incredibly challenging task. With a total investment of 5,000 QAR, the chosen businesses generated an outstanding 13,000 QAR in revenue, demonstrating creativity, resilience and strong commercial awareness.

Festival-goers were treated to a diverse and innovative range of stalls, offering everything from interactive games and handmade crafts to thoughtfully developed food concepts. Highlights included:

  • Time Travel – an interactive carnival-style experience where customers spun a wheel to journey through different eras, completing themed challenges to win prizes, while committing 10% of profits to the Red Crescent.
  • Crafty Kolaas – an Australian-inspired craft stall run by two sisters, featuring handmade bracelets, bookmarks and accessories.
  • Yarn Boutique – returning after last year’s success, this business demonstrated impressive growth and confidence, having previously generated 1,300 QAR in profit.
  • Rookies – a food business shaped by strong market research, offering brownies, cookies and dessert cups, with new high-demand additions such as brownies with ice cream and hot chocolate.
  • Paint and Pastries – a creative concept blending baked treats with painting easels and canvases, giving customers a relaxed, social ‘paint-and-sip’ style experience.
  • Macro Munches – a health-focused venture selling high-protein brownies and cake pops, clearly communicating nutritional value while building on lessons learned from last year.
  • Bake It Till You Make It – a lively dual-offer stall combining waffles and popcorn with classic carnival games.
  • Haya’s Key Chain Creations – a highly polished stall where customers designed personalised keychains, supported by excellent market data and a strong social mission with Education Above All.
  • Chocobai Berries – a visually striking concept inspired by the Dubai chocolate trend, offering chocolate strawberry cups with knafe.
  • Cancer Kids First – a socially driven slime stall that built on previous success, blending creativity with meaningful charitable donations.

A Festival Alive with Sport, Music and Performance

The festival’s lively atmosphere was further elevated by the fantastic contributions of Doha College’s Academies. Evo Sports Qatar energised the campus with a series of engaging multi-sport activations, inviting pupils and families to get active, try something new and share in the joy of sport. Adding to the creative buzz, Mockingbird Academy delighted audiences with vibrant drama and musical theatre performances, while Doha College’s Music Department showcased the talents of its bands and choirs, filling the festival with music throughout the day. Together, these performances and activities created a dynamic, inclusive experience, shaping the vibrant spirit of the festival and ensuring the day was as energetic as it was memorable.

The Spring Festival was a wonderful success — with 70 vendors, over 2,200 visitors, and an incredible atmosphere throughout the day. It was truly inspiring to see such strong entrepreneurial spirit from our pupils as well as an eclectic mix of stall holders. I’m grateful to everyone that took part, with a special mention to our parent volunteers, and I am already looking forward to next year!
