A National Honour: Celebrating Fatima S at the Qatar Education Excellence Award 2026

Doha College is incredibly proud to share that Year 6 pupil, Fatima S, has officially received the Platinum Award for Scientific Excellence at the prestigious Qatar Education Excellence Award ceremony.

This year, 108 candidates were selected from a total of 371 applicants, highlighting the exceptional standard required to achieve this national honour. Organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the award has become the highest academic distinction in the country. It aims to build a knowledge-based human capital capable of meeting future challenges, while promoting positive attitudes towards knowledge and scientific research across the State of Qatar.

The ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who personally presented Fatima with her award. Representing Doha College at this distinguished national occasion were our Principal, Mr Tongue, and our Senior Vice Principal – Head of Primary, Mr Watson, both immensely proud to witness this extraordinary milestone.

This award recognises pupils who demonstrate not only outstanding academic performance but also exemplary character. Fatima S embodies both. Her dedication to learning, strength of character, humility and respect for others reflect the values we nurture every day at Doha College.
