Doha College Student Wins Prestigious ENEC NITA Award for AI Innovation in Nuclear Waste Management

Aaraadhana R, a Year 9 student from Doha College, has been awarded the NITA title award under the "School" category. This achievement was announced at the Nuclear Innovation Technology Summer School (NITSS), hosted by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) at Rixos Marina, Abu Dhabi, in August 2024.
The NITA competition sought innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to improve nuclear efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Aaraadhana's winning proposal focused on "Artificial Intelligence in Nuclear Waste Management," which impressed a panel of subject matter experts and judges. Her dedication and commitment to exploring AI's role in enhancing nuclear operations set her apart in a competition that featured numerous promising entries from GCC countries and international participants, including students from Poland.
The NITSS event not only celebrated innovative minds but also provided an invaluable opportunity for winners to engage with industry experts and peers in the civil nuclear field, further enriching their understanding of this critical sector.
