The internet is a wonderful resource for everyone, but a big problem is where to start when looking for information. On this page we have tried to provide a selection of 'starting points' for teachers and students.

GCSE Revision Help, BBC 'bitesize'.
All subjects
Prepare for your GCSE examinations.  A very good site for all subjects.
S-cool.
Most subjects
Covers seven GCSE and 13 A/AS subjects. Includes tutorials, tests and lots of good advice. Advice about university admissions.
Screen Actors Guild. Drama So you want to be an actor. Try this site to find out how! Lots of useful information for those considering a professional acting career
Help with GCSE Music. Music Help with both coursework and exam preparation.
Channel 4 Homework High
All Subjects
Help with your homework. Ask a question and they try to provide hints and tips within 24hrs. There is also a searchable 'question bank'. If you are lucky you might even visit when there is a 'live teacher' available.
Student Central
All subjects.
Help with your coursework, including some sample essays and 'write-ups'. You could help other students by submitting your essays.
Project GCSE A-level.
Most subjects
Covers eleven GCSE subjects and six A-level. Brief revision notes on a limited range of subjects. Useful if you need to 'brush up' on a few key points.
Creative Chemistry.

Lots of useful things for both teachers and students. Advice on coursework, a coursework 'tune-up' garage, revision guides, work sheets plus much more. GCSE and AS/A level.

Teaching Times An alternative to the 'TES'. Jobs, news etc.
Science Resources. Science A resource page for all science teachers. A place to share ideas and methods.
The National Curriculum.

The latest version of the national curriculum. There is a 'search for ICT opportunities' section where you can search on 'themes', such as recording data or 'ICT resource', such as spreadsheets. Helpful in finding where ICT can be used in your subject.
Edexcel.
All Subjects.
Syllabuses, or is it syllabi? (Both seem to be acceptable to my spell checker.) Specifications for GCSEs, A and AS levels. Information about all aspects of Edexcel's activities.
AQA.
All subjects.

Virtual Teacher Centre.
All Subjects.
Lots of useful information including using ICT across the curriculum and where to find your subject on the internet. Searchable by subject or go directly to the classroom resources page. Contains news and 'professional development' sections.
General Teaching Council. The professional body for teachers. All teachers who wish to work in the UK must be registered by October 2001.

Doha and Qatar.

British in Qatar Aimed primarily at the British community, but of use to everyone. Clubs, societies and events in Qatar. Links to UK Government sites, import and quarantine regulations etc. Many other useful links.
Qatar Info. An on line magazine about Doha and Qatar. A lot of useful information. If your server is slow be prepared for a long wait as this site uses lots of 'fancy but impressive' effects.
The Peninsula. An on-line version (very good it is too) of the one of the local English language news papers.
Gulf Times. On-line version of one of the local English language news papers.
Qatar Airways. Information about routes available. E-mail link for fare and other enquiries.
The Country of Qatar. More links about about Qatar. A good place to start if you want to know more about the country.
