Key stage 3
Key Stage 3 Curriculum Overview
The principal aim of the curriculum for Key Stage 3
(Years 7, 8 and 9) is to expose the students to as wide a range of subjects
as possible. So, in addition to English, Mathematics, Science and Physical
Education, eight others are taught- Art & Design, Music, Drama, Geography,
History, Modern Foreign Languages, Design Technology, ICT. This ensures a
broad and balanced education, enabling students to see in which fields their
interests and talents lie through a relevant and differentiated curriculum.
All students are expected to take part in all aspects of the curriculum,
including Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). This is normally
delivered by a Form Tutor who also monitors academic progress and is the
main focus for contact within the school. Any parents wishing to know more
about the PSHE programme or the KS3 Curriculum should contact the Key Stage
Achievement Leader or the Assistant Principal for Student Services at the
College.
