What can I expect on my first day?
You will be greeted at the main entrance by a teacher, who will then take you to your classroom. This teacher is your Form Tutor who will take registration and provide you with essential information at the start of each school day. For Year 7s the first half of the first day will be spent with your Form Tutor, getting to know one another and learning about the College. The rest of the day will be spent in lessons

Is there a uniform?
There is a set uniform for Doha College. A detailed description is available on our website and from the front office. In preparation for your first day, purchase your school uniform from
ZAKS.  The uniform list can be viewed HERE

What jewellery can I wear?
In the interest of safety and image jewellery is to be kept to a minimum – see our website.

Should I bring a lunch / snack?
Our Tuck Shop (open at both breaks and immediately after school) has a variety of foods and drinks to choose from. Bringing your own is another option. Remember to drink water and eat healthy!

What if I'm late, absent or leaving early?
If you arrive late, go to the front office and sign the ‘Late Register’. You will receive a late slip, which is to be given to your Form Tutor.
If you know you’re going to be absent, inform your Form Tutor or call the front office in advance. If you’re sick and will not be attending school your parents need to contact the front office.
Generally, if you need to leave early, bring a signed note from your parents to your Form Tutor. When leaving, sign the ‘Leaving Register’ at the front office, collect an exit pass and then hand it to security at the front gate.

I don’t feel well. What do I do?
A nurse is always on duty should you not feel well. To get to the nurse’s office, turn right from the front office.

How do I contact my parents while in school?

You should go to the Student Welfare office by the Library and ask to use their phone. Telephone cards can be purchased at the Tuck Shop for use at the public phone located by the Nurse’s office. Mobile phone use is not allowed on school premises.

Where are my classes?
You will be given a map of the College, on your first day. The College is a big place and you have to go to a different room for each lesson. Year 7 students have prefects as guides for the first two weeks.

Will there be homework for every subject?
Yes, but not every subject every day! You will be given a homework timetable during your first week. Homework Club is also offered after school in the Library (from 1.30 pm to 2.45 pm) for students who may need resources for project work, or simply somewhere quiet to do their homework.
