Academic Year 2005/2006

The Learning Resource Centre continues to be a hive of activity. As well as fiction and non-fiction materials we have 15 computers with broadband connection. These are available for students to use on an individual basis or class work with their teachers. Students are welcome at any time to study and read. The librarian is always on hand to answer any questions, provide help and support to both students and staff.

Students have had a big input in choosing new titles for the fiction and non-fiction sections. These books are now on order and a list will soon be published here.

We stock a wide selection of magazines and newspapers to keep students up to date with local, national and international current affairs. We also subscribe to a wide variety of academic and recreational publications. This are available to both students and staff. An index to these will soon be available so that users can quickly access the information they need. If students have any suggestions for magazine and periodical subscriptions they should contact the librarian, Mrs Davis. see PUBLICATIONS

For the Post-16 students we have a comprehensive Careers Library. This is constantly updated in order to assist students in the important decisions to be made towards the end of their school careers.

The Learning Resource Centre is open from 6.45am every morning and until 2.45pm Sunday to Wednesday for Homework Club. During this time teachers and the librarian are available to offer help and support to students in their learning. Students can also use all the resources in the LRC.

The LRC is busy and a cheerful-so come and see us!! We now have a pleasant shaded courtyard where students can relax, read or study.

The librarian, Mrs Karon Davis can be contacted on 4687379 ext.231 or at librarian@dohacollege.com  if you have any suggestions for an improved service or any questions.
