Unit 2 The Digital Economy (Portfolio)
Paperless transactions are hallmarks of the digital economy. In the global e-marketplace transactional websites are the interface between e-enabled customers and organisations, allowing them to do business with one another anytime, anywhere. In this unit, students will investigate how organisations are responding to the pressures of the e-marketplace by using transactional websites.
Evidence for this unit will be in the form of an e-portfolio in which they will include a report on a commercial transactional website such as Commercial Bank, HSBC etc. This report will look at the main features of the site and evaluate its use and potential threats to customer data. The students will also need to create a database of their own.
Unit 3 The Knowledge Work (Practical Assessment) Assessed Jan/ June 2006
This unit is about making informed decisions using the information available to you. The students will be given a scenario and will be asked to make decisions of who to solve the problems identified within the scenario using ICT. This is a two hour exam.
Advanced Level (A2) Year 13
