Geography Department

You need to know about the world in which you live. Geography helps you do this and to understand the impact of humanity on the 'natural' world.

All students in years 7, 8 and 9 study geography, with the option of further study in years 10 and 11 leading to GCSE.

The GCSE course includes at least two 'field trips' to study geographical phenomena such as mangrove 'swamps' and the movement of sand dunes.

The advanced level geography class have been on a field trip to Cyprus and the UK to study, as part of their course work, various phenomena that do not exist in Qatar, such as rivers and forests.

At the end of year 11 students have the option of further study leading to an A or A/S level in Geography, a popular choice.

The examination results achieved by the Geography Department are significantly above the UK average.
