Art Department

The Art department is in the purpose built 'technology block' and consists of two main teaching rooms and a smaller studio, used mainly by sixth form students to develop coursework during their non-contact time. There is a large electric kiln and a well-equipped photographic darkroom.

The 'Day in the Life...' assignments were created by A-Level Photography students as part of their studies.  If the presentations do not load online please download the files to view them.

All students take art in years 7 to 9, after which it becomes an optional examination subject. Art is a popular choice for GCSE, A/S and A level. Each year there is an exhibition of students art work, to see some their work use the links below.

The department produces an annual ‘publication’ to celebrate the work of the students.  In previous years this has taken the form of a calendar illustrated with examples of student art work, most recently a diary was produced which proved to be very popular.

Below are links to Art projects as used in the department.
