Course Synopsis:
Economics at the Doha College is a
valuable subject, which provides an interesting and exciting course of
study. You will study subject matter that you will not formally have
come into contact with, but which is all pervasive and affects everybody
you know. The process of research and debate will improve your key
skills, which will prove useful in university education or employment.
Studying A level Economics will provide you with an in-depth knowledge
of how wealth is created and distributed. It tells you how markets work
and often fail to work and how and why countries trade. You will learn
about the causes on consequences of unemployment and inflation and you
will begin to understand the problems faced by developing economies. You
will also study ‘globalisation’ and its consequences. In other words you
will begin to understand the world you live in.
