Why is Doha College planning to build a new campus?

It is widely recognised that the demand for school places within Qatar has hit an all-time high as the World Cup 2022 approaches. This situation will only be exacerbated as more infrastructure projects come online and the number families entering Qatar increases. The resulting concerns are well documented;

• Quality schools at capacity
• Waiting lists are unrealistic
• Parents faced with unsatisfactory choices
• Increase in home schooling
• Commuting from other GCC countries
• Families living apart
• Companies unable to recruit / retain staff

The current Doha College campus is operating at maximum capacity and unable to accept an increase in student numbers. Also, the facility itself is 30 years old and does not reflect the College’s vision of being recognized as one of the leading international schools in the world. Therefore a new purpose built, state of the art campus is the best solution for all involved with Doha College. This new campus will enable student numbers to increase by at least 30% and offer many more children a world class education at Doha College.

So when will our new campus be ready?

Architects, Jestico + Whiles, have already been appointed on the basis of their concept for the new campus. Project Managers Davis Langdon are preparing everything necessary to start the next phase of design. All that remains is to conclude ongoing negotiations on the site itself; once an agreement has been reached an announcement will be made – watch this space!
