September – December

Find out about subjects on offer to you in year 10 and 11. Doha College website www.dohacollege.com has information on subject content and delivery.

Start to make a list of subjects you like at school and ones you may be interested in studying in Years 10 and 11. Think about the way you like to learn, for example, by watching and listening, writing or doing a practical job yourself. Talk to your teachers, parents and careers adviser to help identify subjects that will suit you.

Use the site www.connexions-direct.com/jobs4u to find out about different careers and what subjects they require for entry.
 

January - April

Use Kudos a computer program in school to come up with some job ideas; this only identifies jobs related to your likes and dislikes you can use this as a starting point not to choose your career.

Attend Options evening in school.

Talk to your parents and teachers about what you are thinking about doing. Ask to speak to your careers adviser if you need help.
