Dear Parents,

Examination leave for all year 11 students will commence on Tuesday 15^th May in preparation for the first central exam on the 16^th of May.  Students taking History can additionally take Wednesday 9th May to aid in their final preparation for their exam on Thursday 10^th May, returning on Sunday 12th.  All students are expected to attend all lessons up to and including Monday 14^th May.

Outlined below is a reminder of the procedures for the examination period.

• Students must arrive to examinations dressed in full school uniform.
• When they arrive they must sign in at the desks situated in the main reception and remember to sign out when they leave the school.
• Students must arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the examination.
• Students must bring all stationary in a transparent pencil case and please remind them to bring spares!
• When sitting examinations that require calculators, texts, etc, students must provide these for themselves.
• Mobile telephones are not allowed in the examination rooms and therefore it is advised that students do not bring them to school on the days of examinations.
• Study rooms will be available for students wishing to use them before, during and between examinations and will be displayed on the Examinations Board.
• Revision lessons during the exam period will be offered by subject teachers and an outline of these sessions will be distributed.

I recognise that this can be an anxious time for both the students and their families so if you have any questions or concerns regarding the examinations please do not hesitate to contact me.  A provisional time table outlining the days which exams take place has been on display for students on the examination board, and as soon as all timings have been established pupils will receive the final GCSE examination timetable.
