Dear Parents
Calendar : 2007 – 2008 I write with details of the Calendar for 2007 – 2008. There will be:
The Board was keen for educational reasons that the calendar should not expose students to excessively long periods without a break and that parental needs were considered, which we did through the questionnaire. You may be interested to know that there were approximately 250 returns, the key points being:
o over 90% of parents agreed with the overall number of days; o 98% of parents were happy with the two week Christmas/Eid closure; o 74% of parents were happy with the two week closure at Easter. Some wanted a shorter break; some wanted a shorter break and earlier closure in the summer; some wanted a longer break.
We believe that the attached calendar meets the above criteria. The principal difficulty this year is the early Easter which means a fairly long haul afterwards to the mid term break, which can only be in the w/c 26 May 08 because that is the only week free of the UK GCSE, AS and A2 examinations.
With Best Wishes.
